Chapter Three, Part One

Chapter Three
The House

I pulled the mass of my face, wincing as claws scraped across my cheeks and chin. In my hands was a fluffy, wet animal. It barked.
Well that eliminates a cat. Guess what it is, and it's not a tree.
It barked again.
"Hey, guy" I pulled out the dog tag, which was pink, "hey, girl," I amended. The tag read:

Fannie Mae
If found call
425.555.2566 ex. 652
Ask for Fredrick Mack

The dog, Fannie began struggling, and I dropped her to the floor. She ran toward the living room. I followed, and heard a crunching noise from the living room. I gasped and ran toward
the sound in the dark. Fearing a broken bone for Fannie, or even worse, what was there, actually  breaking the bone.

I slammed open the door to the living room. Sitting on the floor was Fannie, munching on a bone. It was one of those teeth-washing bones, that are green and and a toothpasty when you get them wet. I walked over and pulled the bone from Fannie's mouth, or tried to. The little dog came up with the bone. I shook her off, and holding the bone by a corner, I leaned back and threw it up the stairs. Fannie's head snapped around, and she bounded toward the stairs. Reaching the bottom, she stopped. The first step reached to about her shoulders. She scrambled up the stair, and gaining confidence, she scrambled up to the bone.

High above Peaheart, the home of the Chernobls, and ship slowly turned on an invisible axis. She was the Pegasus, a Pegasus-class destroyer, the best in the fleet.
"Cloak!" shouted her captain, Captain 314.
Outside the ship, the Pegasus flashed, and when the flash faded, all that remained was a sensor shadow, which disappeared.
"I want c to the fourth!"
Invisible to the rest of the fleet, the Pegasus shot off, at the speed of light to the fourth power.

Dogs weren't up for removal, most of the dogs that weren't touching someone were left. And in case you haven't figured it out, the wires under the library computer is what protected him. Also, 1/6,000,000,000 of the population left behind isn't that bad.
